Frequently Asked Questions
What is contract multiplier?
The contract multiplier determines the notional value per price point. For example, an ES futures contract with a $50 multiplier means each $1 move in the underlying equals $50 in P&L.
How does leverage affect risk?
Leverage amplifies both gains and losses. With 10x leverage, a 10% price move equals a 100% return on margin. Higher leverage means smaller price moves can wipe out your margin, triggering liquidation.
What is required margin?
Required margin is the minimum funds you must deposit to open a futures position. It equals contract value × margin percentage. For a $100,000 contract at 10% margin, you need $10,000.
