Frequently Asked Questions
How is GPA calculated?
GPA = Sum(GRADE_POINTS ร CREDIT_HOURS) / Sum(CREDIT_HOURS). A 4.0 scale: A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0.0. Weighted GPA accounts for course difficulty (AP/Honors).
How is weighted grade calculated?
Each grade times weight, then sum all.
What GPA do top colleges require?
Top universities typically require a 3.5-4.0 unweighted GPA. Mid-tier schools often accept 3.0-3.5. Community colleges generally accept 2.0+. However, GPA is just one factor โ standardized test scores, essays, extracurriculars, and letters of recommendation also play significant roles in admissions decisions.
