What is a complementary color scheme?
Complementary colors are opposite each other on the color wheel (e.g., blue and orange). They create high contrast and visual vibrancy. Analogous colors are adjacent on the wheel and create harmony. Triadic uses three evenly-spaced colors. Monochromatic uses variations of a single hue with different saturation and lightness.
How many colors in a palette?
Typically 5 to 10 colors.
How do I use the palette in my project?
Click any swatch to copy its HEX value, or use Copy All to grab the entire palette at once. HEX values work directly in CSS, design tools, and most coding frameworks.
How does the palette generator create color schemes?
You pick one of the five scheme types and a base hue, and the tool places the partner colors at fixed angles on the color wheel: complementary at 180 degrees, triadic at 120 and 240, tetradic at 90, 180 and 270, split-complementary at 150 and 210, and analogous at 30 and 60 on either side. Every resulting hue is converted to a HEX value at fixed saturation and lightness, and you copy the colors straight from the swatches, one by one or the whole palette at once.
