Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best opacity for a watermark?

A watermark opacity of 30-50% is recommended — visible enough to deter theft but subtle enough not to distract from the image content. For tiled watermarks, use lower opacity (15-25%). For single placement watermarks, 40-60% works well.

Can I use both text and logo watermarks?

Yes! You can add both a text watermark and a logo watermark to the same image. For example, use tiled text across the image and a logo in the corner for maximum protection.

Will watermarking reduce image quality?

Watermarking itself does not reduce quality — it simply draws additional pixels on top of the original image. When you export as PNG (lossless), the result has the same quality as the original. JPEG and WebP apply compression, so use a high quality setting (90+) for best results.

What rotation angle should I use for tiled watermarks?

A diagonal angle of -30° to -45° is most common and effective for tiled watermarks. This angle makes the watermark difficult to crop out while still being readable.
